BioRep aims to develop a new TMA platform in order to use frozen tissue (FTMA) samples and cell pellets (CMA).

Frozen tissue samples are a valuable source of biomaterial since can be used to perform DNA/RNA studies in addition to immunohistochemistry analysis.

Core samples of snap frozen tissue preserve, much better than paraffin embedded tissue, the antigenicity of most proteins and, if opportunely handled, DNA and RNA integrity too.

This will allow researchers and clinical labs to perform protein analysis (by standard immunological techniques) and gene expression studies (by in situ hybridization techniques).
