Prenatal Genetics
BioRep provides the NATIVA® Prenatal Genetic Screening Service through its Medical Genetics Laboratories located within the San Raffaele Scientific Park and accredited by the Lombardy Regional Health Authority (SMeL).
NATIVA® is a next-generation Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) that analyzes cell-free fetal DNA circulating in maternal blood to identify the most significant fetal chromosomal abnormalities. The test is rapid, safe, highly sensitive, and poses no risk to either mother or baby.
Several testing options are available, enabling detection of:
- Common trisomies (21, 18, and 13)
- Sex chromosome aneuploidies
- Rare autosomal aneuploidies (RAAs)
- Microdeletions ≥ 3 Mb (5 or 11 syndromes, depending on the selected panel)
- Genome-wide deletions and duplications ≥ 7 Mb (CNVs)
- Fetal sex determination
- Dedicated options for singleton and twin pregnancies
Clinically validated, NATIVA® provides results within 5–10 working days and can be performed from the 10th week of pregnancy, significantly reducing the need for invasive diagnostic procedures such as chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and amniocentesis.
The test is suitable for:
- Singleton pregnancies
- Twin pregnancies
- Naturally conceived pregnancies
- Pregnancies achieved through Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART)
