Automatic-Fill Stainless Steel Cryogenic Storage Systems
High-performance Chart-MVE stainless steel cryogenic storage systems are equipped with dedicated controllers for:
- Temperature monitoring
- Liquid nitrogen level monitoring
- Automatic liquid nitrogen refilling
The systems are also equipped with visual and audible alarms and can be fully integrated with centralized monitoring and control platforms.
Designed specifically for storage in nitrogen vapor or liquid nitrogen immersion, these systems can accommodate large quantities of biological materials, ranging from 5,000 to 90,000 samples stored in 2 mL vials, as well as blood bags and cryogenic straws. Storage chambers can be configured with either standard or customized internal layouts.
Selected models also allow users to regulate and customize internal operating temperatures directly through the control unit across a range from -20°C to -150°C.
Manual-Fill Aluminum Containers
Chart-MVE aluminum cryobiological containers are designed for storing small to medium quantities of biological samples, straws, and vials, with a capacity of up to 6,000 units, while ensuring good holding times and low liquid nitrogen consumption.
Lightweight and easy to handle thanks to their aluminum construction and wheeled base, these containers are particularly well suited to the needs of assisted reproduction centers and small research biobanks.
Products for the Transport of Biological Samples
Steel or aluminum cryogenic containers designed for transporting cryopreserved biological samples in nitrogen vapor (vapor shippers), equipped with temperature data loggers to monitor conditions during transport and compliant with ADR and IATA regulations.
Inside, a hydrophobic membrane absorbs liquid nitrogen and releases it as vapor, maintaining an internal temperature of -150°C.
Depending on the model and intended use, holding time can reach up to 20 days, with a 3-hour recharge time for long-distance transport, or up to 4 hours, with a 10-minute charging time for intra-hospital or emergency transfers.
Products for the Storage and Transport of Liquid Nitrogen
Cryogenic tanks are specifically designed for the transport and storage of liquid nitrogen only. They are used to refill manual cryobiological containers or can be connected directly to automated equipment.
Some models are self-pressurizing and are generally made of steel. They can store large volumes of liquid nitrogen, ranging from 30 to 600 liters, and can be easily moved thanks to wheels welded directly to the body of the container.
Other models are made of aluminum and are designed for the storage and transport of smaller quantities of liquid nitrogen, from 4 to 50 liters. They are lightweight and easy to handle, either by lifting or with the use of a dedicated wheeled base.

The primary goal of cryopreservation is to maximize cell viability during both freezing and thawing processes.
To achieve controlled and gradual freezing, it is essential to accurately regulate cooling rates until the desired temperature is reached. Controlled-rate freezing is performed using specialized freezers that cool samples through the introduction of nitrogen vapor into the freezing chamber.
