During its tenth year of life, aiming to increase its storage capacity, BioRep expanded its facility moving into the Biotechnology Department (DIBIT2) of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, one of the largest Science Parks in Europe.
The new facility offers novel backup sites to meet customer’s needs even in case of emergency. BioRep was in fact the first private Italian company to get the authorization from the Italian Ministry of Health to operate during Disaster Recovery Plan and for Emergency Management Plan frameworks.
BioRep thus strengthened its position as a reference player for public, private, national and international research centers, and focused its activities on the collection, the shipment, the processing, the storage and the distribution of biological samples. This network of services is a key support for all the genetic, neurodegenerative, tumor and rare diseases research studies.
BioRep is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and acquired AIFA authorization for GMP biological material cryopreservation thanks to the use of advanced technologies that ensure the maximum safety for the processed and cryopreserved samples. These results have been reached through standard operative procedures, highly qualified personnel, a continuous monitoring and control alarm system operating 24 hours a day and validated backup systems (also remote) for all critical equipment.
BioRep developed a LIMS informatics system aswell for the maximum safety and privacy of the preserved biological material’s associated data, in compliance with current laws regarding privacy and safety policies.
BioRep is the ideal partner to develop a worldwide research network, providing to the scientific community the access to biological material through an online-dedicated catalogue, guaranteeing the safety and clinical data anonymization.
